Effective October 17, 2026. AteRight is made by Cardrama, LLC. This page explains, in plain words, what data the app touches and where it goes.
Meals you log, your saved foods and recipes, weigh-ins, your goal and body details (height, weight, birth year, activity level), and your preferences are kept in the app's private storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Backups exist only if you make one with "Export backup", and you choose where that file goes.
To work out calories, read photos, analyze recipes, or answer chat questions, the app sends that request's content (for example "turkey sandwich and an apple", or a photo of your plate, a label, a menu, or a recipe) to an AI service:
Food lookups may also query the USDA FoodData Central database and Open Food Facts (for barcodes) with the food name or barcode number only.
If you turn on step reading, AteRight reads your daily step count from Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iPhone). Steps are read only, used on your phone, and never sent anywhere or written back.
Purchases are handled by Google Play or Apple; we never see your card details. To run Premium, our server keeps a license record: the license key, its status, your monthly AI usage count, and, for store purchases, a reference to the purchase so we can confirm it is still active. This record contains no name, email, or food data.
AteRight is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Delete your data at any time by uninstalling the app. To have a Premium license record removed, follow the steps on our data deletion page. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
